National Neurosciences Advisory Group (NNAG) 2016 -2022
The National Neurosciences Advisory Group (NNAG) was a collaboration of professional bodies, patient groups, national and local policy and commissioning leads.
The group operated from September 2016 to December 2022. It provided thought leadership to NHS England to improve treatment, care and support for people with neurological conditions. The Neurological Alliance co-chaired the group, and provided programme management support. The appointment of the NHS England National Clinical Directors for neurology and neurosurgery and spinal surgery in December 2022 to provided national collaborative clinical leadership, which meant that the work of the group was no longer required.
The Neurological Alliance would like to thank all the organisations and individuals from across the neurological community for their work as part of NNAG. We will continue to lead collaborative efforts to improve outcomes for people living with neurological conditions. Together we are stronger.
NNAG’s main aims:
- Ensure alignment across all national neuroscience initiatives
- Troubleshoot emerging issues and problems in neuroscience service delivery that fall outside the scope of the Neurosciences Clinical Reference Group.
- Develop and coordinate a national programme of service improvement, which will lead to improved quality of care and patient outcomes.
